Timber Frames

Timber frame  walls were a prominent form of building until the mid 17th century. However  their inflammable nature meant  builders would look for new methods. It had a renaissance mainly between 1850 - 1920 as the Victorian developer used it quite widely  particularly above a masonry ground floor.
